Modern Masculinity: View our 2018 TEDx Talk HERE
Maine Boys to Men engages communities to shift attitudes and actions to end male violence against women and girls. Boys and men are bombarded by narrow, confusing, and often destructive messages about what masculinity is and isn't, contributing to a culture of self-harm, disrespect, and violence against others. Our unique set of experiential workshops, each rooted in a broader view of masculinity, empower boys, girls, men, and women to notice and intervene in potentially harmful situations long before they become violent.
Your donation directly supports the impactful programs of Maine Boys to Men:
Reducing Sexism and Violence Program (RSVP) is a nationally recognized set of youth-informed curriculums based on extensive research, evidence-based practices, and data demonstrating program impact. Our workshops are a springboard for change and the impact is amplified as participants bring this important work to their communities. Participants leave our workshops with the ability to identify behaviors that contribute toward a culture of harm and violence, and a willingness to play an active role in disrupting those situations
Boot Camp for New Dads is delivered in partnership with hospitals in Portland. This program encourages men to be equal participants in the parenting of their children and prepares them to make informed decisions about what attitudes and behaviors they want to carry forward.
Adult Workshops: Maine Boys to Men offers a variety of programs for parents, educators, and other youth serving professionals.
