Boot Camp for Dads
This program is offered twice monthly in conjunction with Mercy Hospital and Maine Medical Center. First-time dads have the opportunity to learn from veteran dads and their babies. The program provides basic instruction and practical advice on basic baby care, household safety, and healthy relationships for new parents. Many dads form new friendships that last for years.
“This class helped me see the value in really being there from the beginning, it helped me see how important those early months are in connecting with my baby to develop the relationship I want.”
– Participant, Maine Medical Center
Maine Boys to Men sponsors events throughout the year that support parents and the larger community, nurturing the healthy, non-violent development of boys. We offer a bimonthly book club and a film series that explore the intersectionality of race, class, sexual orientation, and gender. We also host lectures and panel discussions featuring leading researchers and authors.
Existing programs can be modified for specific audiences. Boys to Men also offers unique services such as curriculum consultation, public speaking, professional development and school climate assessment and action planning.
